Since one of my interests is in trying to understand how muslims might learn to throw off their muslim identity (the "Ummah") and retrieve and restore the native culture that underlies the nearly impermeable islamic outer shell they live in, I found this DhimmiWatch post very interesting.

Thanks, it's something not much thought about. Every Islamic Nation has a pre-Islamic past. Persia and Egypt still have much in evidence, but many places do not.
If Pre-Roman Britain was dismissed, there would be a massive chasm in the understanding of how we came to our present time, for instance.
